Knights Baseball Team 254 hits

 2008 AIA 2A Baseball State Tournament: Team: Wayne Kuwanhyoima, Dominque Watson, Maurice Kuwanhyoima, Garrett Manygoats, Garth Manygoats, Larry Tsosie, Troy Billy, Colin Tom, Jesse Billy, Taylor Wilson

Overall, I believe the Greyhills Baseball Program enjoyed a successful season.  After evaluating the talent early in the season, my coaches and I set our team goal-to make the 2A State Tournament.  It may have not sounded like a lofty goal considering the program has been in the state tournament the past 3 years, but we were dealing with almost an entirely new and inexperienced squad.  We went through a very tough early season non conference schedule without registering a win, but our aim was to focus on the league games where we finished a very respectable 9-3.  Although frustrating at times, those non conference games really prepared us for our league opponents.  The coaches and I were very impressed with the teams “never quit” attitude.  We told our guys this season was like a mini life lesson.  “When you get knocked down, or things don’t go as planned, you keep pushing forward-never giving up.”  On May 2nd we accomplished our season goal as a North #3 seed in the State Tournament. We lost to a very good Bourgade Catholic team, but our guys played hard throughout the game keeping with the season long attitude, “never quit.”

THE KNIGHT STORE is where students can at least get some freedom. Students from Ms. Yazzie’s business classes get an idea of the business world by helping customers and handling money. They stock and get to order more supplies for the following week.

NCA- Administrator of the Year 444 hits
 It is with a deep sense of gratitude and honor that Greyhills Academy High School nominate its’ Superintendent, Mr. Andrew M. Tah for the Department of Dine’ Education North Central Association’s Administrator of the Year.  Mr. Tah’s many years of educational administrative services in Navajo Education truly exemplifies a competent leader who is visionary, diplomatic, and trustworthy.  The faculty and staff of Greyhills Academy High School support Mr. Tah’s educational leadership and greatly respect and admire him for his diligence and dedication to improving Navajo Education.

YMCA - Meet real heroes of REMEMBER THE TITANS 555 hits
 Three students from Greyhills Academy High School, Clarissa Carlson, Deandra Slim and Jesse Billy were invited to Northern Arizona University to attend the 3rd Annual Sports Celebrity Dinner and Auction held at the du Bois Conference Center on the evening of October 5, 2007.

Miss Greyhills 2007-2008 679 hits

     The winner of this year’s pageant was Shonna Nez. She is a senior this year.

     First runner up was the senior Lynette Johnson. Nicole Manygoats, a freshman, was the 2nd runner up. Francheska Bitah, the seniors, was 3rd runner up and Willinda Riggs who is a junior was the 4th runner up. All of these girls worked hard to make their school and their community proud.

Parent Advisory Officers 589 hits

   Parent Officers of Greyhills Academy High School are Terry Crank and Rosita George. Parent Day, scheduled on August 22, 2007 was one topic discussed at the first parent officers meeting.

   They would like to concentrate on the theme “Ahil nda anish”, interpreted as “We are working together” for this new school year.  We are looking forward to educate our children about many different opportunities available for them through education, career development, technical education and online learning programs.
