
CTE Construction Tech I & II
Full year, Grades 10-12, 90 minute Block (Elective) Class can be repeated for elective credit.
This course explores the fundamentals of:
Carpentry
where students will learn the basics of the safety procedures and use of hand tools.
Basic design and construction of the following: Sub-floors, Wall Layout,Framing of Doors, and Windows, basic Cabinetry and the aspects of Roofing.
Concrete
This unit will provide al form setting and finishing techniques for concrete work, as well as OSHA and job site safety regulations.
Heavy Equipment Operation
This unit teaches students all the safety and operation procedures for our 580 SK Case Backhoe. This includes: Grade cutting, loading trucks and trenching.
Resume/Interview
This unit provides students with the skills necessary to procure and maintain the job they desire. Other skills taught in this unit are: budgeting, teamwork/leadership skills, people skills, and saving plans.
Tech II students must take and pass Const. Tech I in order to enroll in Tech II. Students will form a construction company, learning the basics of quoting, business plans, manpower and accounting as well as providing services to the community.
